
PRELUDE NORCAL URBAN DANCE COMPETITION 2011 IS ALMOST HERE!!!!! Join Main Stacks and the Bay Area dance community in preparation by coming out to NOVEMBER STACKS CLASSES: PRELUDE EDITION!
This month, we’ll be having some amazing choreographers from all over the Bay Area– come and dance with us every Friday leading up to Prelude!
NOVEMBER SCHEDULE:
4th – Wrawsome: Normandean Catungal & Darrel Dumlao
Normandean Catungal:
Inspired by GENTWO in 2005, Normandean began perfecting his dance craft. He started dancing professionally in 2008 for Wrawsome Dance Company. Ever since then, he’s been constantly growing, learning more about his body and how it moves.
Darrel Dumlao:
Twenty-two years old based out of San Jose, Darrel started off as a bboy in high school teaching young kids the foundation of the bboy roots. Now he is an Artistic Director for Wrawsome/Wrebellious, teaching dancers to become creative and open minded with anything they come across.

11th – Wildcard: Maricar Aguilar & Rogel Camba Jr.
Maricar Aguilar:
Maricar began dancing at a young age and trained primarily in ballet, tap and jazz. Her passion for hip-hop choreography intensified when she attended UC Irvine, where she danced with MCIA and Common Ground. Upon graduating from college, Maricar moved back to San Francisco and found her home with Funkanometry Dance Company. Through the years, she has served as a Dance Lead for De La Femme, co-led numerous Funkanometry programs, and contributed artistically to various teams within the company. Currently, she is a Company Dancer for Funkanometry SF and serves Funkanometry’s Community Outreach Coordinator. On the side, she enjoys sharing the stage with some of her favorite dancers, under the ongoing dance project- Wildcard!
Rogel Camba Jr.:
Rogel Ramiro Camba Jr. was born and raised in Santa Maria, CA and began dancing at the age of 16. He trained in hip-hop, ballet, jazz and cheer at Santa Maria High School and Allan Hancock Community College. Later, he attended the University of California, Irvine receiving a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and a B.A. in Dance.
While living in Southern California, Rogel danced and choreographed for Kaba Modern, Kaba Legacy and Culture Shock Los Angeles, gaining the bulk of his hip-hop training. He was also represented by D.D.O. Dance Agency and later appeared in music videos like ”Bebot” by the Black Eyed Peas.
In 2007, Rogel moved to San Francisco to further build and advance his artistic and leadership skills as a Dance Principal for Funkanometry SF. In his years as a Dance Principal, he has co-directed/choreographed for Funkanometry’s Performance Workshop, Funksters’ Summer Intensive and Funkanometry’s high school outreach after-school programs. He has also contributed, artistically, to Funkanometry SF, De La Femme and Funksters.
Utilizing the talent and skills he has developed within his dance career, Rogel plans to continue contributing to Funkanometry SF as an Outreach Coordinator. He plans to build strong relationships within the local and international dance community in hopes to establish a great presence and reputation to all spectators, dancers and non-dancers alike, looking in. Aside from his current role as an Outreach Coordinator, he is also pursuing an M.S. in Biomedical Devices Engineering at San Jose State University.

18th – Aftermath: Thomas Vallero
Thomas Vallero:
Thomas Vallero has been an Artistic Director of Aftermath Dance Co. for 6 years. His style consists of smooth intricate movements to various genres of music. Based off popping and locking as a teen he eventually came to find his passion through urban choreography. His inspirations come from various artists like Shaun Evaristo, Mappy Mappala, Keone Madrid, Vinh Nguyen, and Mariel Martin.
